Join BCMF and NTACCS in Clearwater for the launch of a community wildfire protection initiative, providing W.A.S.P. Kits to Métis households and celebrating over a decade of partnership.

Event Recap:

On April 12, 2025, the BC Métis Federation (BCMF) Conservation Department, in partnership with NTACCS, hosted a community luncheon in Clearwater, BC, to launch a new wildfire protection initiative. The program, funded entirely by community donations, provides W.A.S.P. Wildfire Protection Kits to Métis households in high-risk wildfire zones. The event also marked over 12 years of collaboration between BCMF and NTACCS and honoured the invaluable service of local fire departments.


The initiative highlights the power of community-led climate action and the importance of practical tools in enhancing emergency preparedness and environmental resilience.
